Distinguished Flying Cross:
Flight Lieutenant STRONG has completed many sorties against the enemy with great success.
In August, 1944, as Flight Commander, he led the Squadron against tank formations in the Va?se Conde area and in spite of intense heavy and light anti-aircraft fire, he repeatedly led the Squadron in to attack until six tanks were destroyed and he had exhausted all ammunition.
This officer's great courage, skill and accurate shooting were magnificent examples to his Squadron.
