25 March 1945 †Liberator A72-191: Aircraft missing between Borneo and Mindoro Island after successfully dropping personnel and equipment into the Sarawak area.

Citations

Distinguished Flying Cross:
Has completed large number operational sorties against enemy shipping both day and night. Has inflicted damage naval and merchant ships, skill tenacity coolness under fire has set inspiring example.

Bar to Distinguished Flying Cross:
Is an outstanding pilot and captain. Within last six months has destroyed two and damaged three boats destroyed one R-Boat and damaged large merchant vessel. Successes have been achieved as a result of sheer hard work combined with great skill determination.
