1 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Wing Commander SIMMS SASO Southern Area, Inspected Station
2 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Wing Commander GRIFFITH proceeded by air to Southern Area, at 1200 hours. Squadron Leader CRESSWELL T/Commanding Officer.
4 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Flying Officer A. BROWN and party of NCOs arrived by rail from COOTAMUNDRA on Equipment inspection.
5 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Flying Officer G.H. ROGERS of Air Force H.Q. (D.S.A. Branch) arrived by train from MELBOURNE on general Station A/C check.
6 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Wing Commander GRIFFITH returned from MELBOURNE at 1000 hours and resumed duty on Station. Squadron Leader CRESSWELL ceased to T/Command.
F/Lt R.J. BARRETT, cleared and posted to No. 3 BAGS.
8 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Sir Ronald CROSS and Captain LLOYD, visited Station - Hostilities commenced with JAPAN, 50 airmen & NCOs detailed to dig Aerodrome Defences at 1300 hours. - 1140 hours all MLO personnel recalled, all personnel on leave recalled, all night leave cancelled A/A posts manned.
10 December 1941 - CANBERRA
A.R.P. signals practiced daily. - Flying Officer P.H. ASH posted to No. 3 Squadron. - P/O O.M. WINN Cypher Officer, arrived from 2. TG and took up duties as Supernumery Cypher Officer.
11 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Four A/C of No. 4 Squadron detached to TOWNSVILLE. - Five A/C of No. 4 Squadron left for WILLIAMTOWN.
12 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Two Officers, eighty four other ranks of AIF arrived at CANBERRA 0530 hours.
14 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Squadron Leader SANGSTER PMO arrived by air at 1500 hours to inspect 1st Aid Posts.
18 December 1941 - CANBERRA
CAS CMS CGS, arrived at CANBERRA by air.
19 December 1941 - CANBERRA
1215 hours Flight Lieutenant BRACEGIRDLE returned from WILLIAMTOWN on A20-175. - CAS CMS CGS, left for ESSENDON.
Wing Commander G.E. SAMPSON arrived by air 1045 hours from LAVERTON.
21 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Wing Commander SAMPSON, departed for RICHMOND.
23 December 1941 - CANBERRA
A visit was paid by the Minister for Air, Mr A DRAKEFORD, the Minister for the Army Mr. FORDE and Major HOWIE. The party arrived at 0930 and departed 1000 hours.
1415 hours Brigadier HARRISON of DUNTROON called the Commanding Officer.
28 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Army guarding detachment changed.
29 December 1941 - CANBERRA
Major IRVINE-ANDREWS VC and Major T HOWIESON (Instructors for School of Army Co-operation) arrived.
