No. 2 Operational Training Unit, RAAF - April 1942

6 April 1942 - Port Pirie
FORMATION. No. 2 Operational Training Unit, formed at Port Pirie. AUTH:- 1 T.G. signal O 173 5/4/42.
POSTINGS. Flight Lieutenant J.R. HORAN (1942) arrived on posting and commenced duties as Adjutant. AUTH:- Airboard signal PZ 56 dated 1.4.42.
ALLOTMENT OF AIRCRAFT. Following aircraft allotted from No. 1 OTU:- Wirraways A20-326, 402, 509, 403, 530, 499, 373, 414, 506, 401, 372, 548, 508, 400, 327, 510 and 435. AUTH:- Airboard signal QY 863 9/4/42. Following aircraft allotted from No. 2 B&GS:- Fairey Battles L5758, 5774. AUTH:- Airboard signal QY 670 dated the 12.4.42.
14 April 1942 - PORT PIRIE
POSTINGS. Following Officers arrived on posting from No. 1 OTU SALE, for flying duties:- Flight Lieutenants C.R. McKENNY (574), J.R. KINNINMONT (584), Flying Officers J.A. MENZIES (816), P.R. 15 April 1942 - PORT PIRIE
TRAINING. 9 Officers and 17 Airmen Pilots, arrived on posting from No. 1 OTU to complete No. 6 Wirraway Course. AUTH:- Airboard signal PZ 662 dated 13.4.42. 6 Officers and 25 Airmen Pilots arrived on posting from No. 1 OTU to undergo No. 7 Wirraway Course. AUTH:- Pz 662 dated 13.4.42.
16 April 1942 - PORT PIRIE
POSTINGS. Squadron Leader A.C. RAWLINSON, DFC (386) arrived on posting from No. 1 Embarkation Depot to temporarily command this Unit. AUTH:- Airboard signal PZ 962 dated 3.4.42. Flying Officer W.E. JEWELL (725) arrived on posting from No. 1 ED for flying duties. AUTH:- Airboard signal PZ 962 dated 3.4.42.
APPOINTMENTS. No. 2246 Warrant Officer WAITE W.J. appointed to a commission on probation with the rank of Flying Officer (CWO Branch) w.e.f. 1.3.42. AUTH:- Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. 115 dated 16.4.42.
20 April 1942 - PORT PIRIE
POSTINGS. Pilot Officer K.J. GRANT (3295) arrived on posting from No. 6 Service Flying Training School, MALLALA, for Accountant and Pay Duties. AUTH:- Airboard signal PZ 815 dated 16.4.42.
21 April 1942 - PORT PIRIE
