No. 3 Aircraft Depot, RAAF - May 1942

1 May 1942 - AMBERLEY
Strength - 5 officers, 284 airmen………Total 289.
This month the depot commenced major inspections of Wirraway and Hudson Aircraft for operational squadrons. The manufacture of mountings and fittings for forward guns for A-20A aircraft and also the manufacture of servicing equipment for use in the Depot commenced. During the month 12 American B-26 Glen Martin Marauder Medium Bomber aircraft were erected.
29 May 1942 - AMBERLEY
Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal G. JONES, CBE, DFC, accompanied by D.T.S., Group Captain D.C. WACKET, OBE, arrived by air, inspected the Unit and departed by air the same day.
