No. 1 Aircraft Park, RAAF - July 1940

1 July 1940 to 31 July 1940 - GEELONG
Work on the hangar, buildings, barrack huts and aerodrome was continued during the month. On Monday 8th. July 1940 Staff and records were moved to Station Headquarters Block. On Thursday 11th. July 1940 personnel moved into Barrack and Mess Huts. By the end of the month construction work on the Station was nearly completed.
With the posting of more men to the unit the erection of aircraft was accelerated.
Deliveries of aircraft to the Station for erection were as follows:-
6/7/40 - L5599, L5600, L5604, L5609, L5610
15/7/40 - L5163, L5382, L5602, L5603
20/7/40 - L5012, L5022, L5066, L5143, L5158, L5170, L5320, L5322, L5385, L5390, L5403, L5471, L5617, N2244, P2365

At the end of July 1940 the strength of the unit was as follows:-
(2) AIRMEN: 116
(1) Awaiting erection: 18
(2) In Course erection: 8
(3) Serviceable: 12.
(4) Erected awaiting flight test: 2.
