No. 18 Squadron, NEIAF - May 1942

9 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
A swearing in Ceremony of Dutch Officer was held, commencing at 0930 hours. A large gathering of Official Guests and Officials were present. The Dutch Ambassador, the Rt. Hon. BARON VAN AERSSEN BEYERN VAN VOSHAL attended the ceremony.
12 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
His Excellency, LORD GOWRIE, Governor General of Australia paid an official visit to No. 18 Squadron between 1130 and 1230 hours. W/Commander B.J. FIEDELDY and Lt. B. HULSCHER were presented to His Excellency by F/Lt. L.R. DAWSON, RAAF Station Adjutant.
15 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
S/Ldr. WINTER-IRVING, Squadron Administrative Officer, arrived and took up duties with No. 18 Squadron.
25 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
W/Cmdr. B.J. FIEDELDY proceeded to Melbourne for a conference with USA and RAAF Executives.
S/Ldr. WINTER IRVING posted, and F/Lt. L.R. DAWSON (No. 968) took over duties as Squadron Administrative Officer, to command all RAAF Personnel in accordance with Arboard Signal PZ-922, 15/5/42.
27 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall G. JONES made a tour of inspection of 18 Squadron and its Personnel.
28 May 1942 - CANBERRA, ACT
W/Cmdr. B.J. FIEDELDY returned from Melbourne conference.
