Pilot Officer G. KEMPTON took up Adjutant's duties of 12 Squadron.
15 January 1942
The following Pilots were granted comissions with effect from dates shown.

17 January 1942
Oblique and vertical photography of Bathurst Island was completed.
19 January 1942
Pilot Officer J.E. GERBER, Air Observer, was loaned to 13 Squadron as Navigator on a Travel Flight.
21 January 1942
A signal was received from Headquarters North Western Area instructing that Wirraways are reserved only for dive bombing and not to be used in Fighter role.
An inspection of the vicinity of Adelaide River for aerodromes was carried out.
26 January 1942
No. 407413 Sgt. CRUICKSHANK, D.L. was posted to Station Headquarters, RAAF Station, DARWIN for flying duties with Drogue Towing Flight.
Flight Lieutenant PHILP departed on a special duty flight to DALY WATERS and completed a road reconnaissance - NEWCASTLE WATERS to DARWIN.
29 January 1942
Flight Lieutenant SHARPE departed by civil aircraft to take up duties at Air Force Headquarters.
31 January 1942
Present disposition of Flights:
"A" Flight - Permanent Aerodrome
"B" Flight - Civil Aerodrome
"C" Flight - Permanent Aerodrome
